If you love sangria, but don't love all the sugar that goes along with it, this one's for you! It's light, refreshing, fizzy and fruity!
1 (750 mL) bottle red wine (merlot is a great option)
1 lemon
1 lime
1 regular orange
1 blood orange
2/3 cup agave nectar
Fine Sugar
Any sparkling mineral water such as Pelegrino, Topo Chico, or Club Soda
Pour Wine in to a pitcher or decanter.
Squeeze the juice from all of the fruit into the pitcher with the wine.
Toss in the rind of all squeezed fruit.
Add agave nectar. Stir well.
Chill for 24-hours or overnight.
Pour fine sugar on to a flat plate.
Take a festive glass and rub the rim of the glass with any slice of fruit.
Dip the rim of the glass into the sugar on the plate. Shake off excess.
Fill the glass with ice if desired. (Ice is not necessary since mixture is chilled.)
Fill glass 1/2 to 3/4 full with chilled sangria mixture.
Top with sparkling water.
Garnish glass with a slice of fruit.
