Greg's Baked Beans

Side Dish

When my friend Greg brought these baked beans to a lake cookout, I instantly fell in love with them. They are so different and delish. I think it's adding the butterbeans that stole my heart. And my tastebuds.

Ingredients
  • 1, 29 oz can of Bush’s Baked Beans
  • 1, 16 oz can of Ranch Beans with Jalapeño
  • 1, 8 oz can of Butter Beans
  • 1, small sweet yellow onion, diced
  • 1/2 log Owen’s sausage
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Liquid Smoke
  • 1 teaspoon powdered mustard
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small red pepper, diced
Directions
  1. Brown sausage in a skillet. Add onions and brown together.
  2. In a large pot, mix all ingredients (except bell peppers) and bring to a boil. Add sausage & onions as well.
  3. Remove from heat. Do not over mix as it will make beans mushy.
  4. Pour contents into a large baking dish (a large foil pan works well for this as you can toss when finished).
  5. Stir in the raw, green and red bell peppers.
  6. Cook uncovered in a 350° oven for two hours.
