Cedar Plank Orange Marmelade Salmon

Fish

With summer on the horizon, we are all heading outdoors to do more cooking on the grill. I’ve had several ask for my Cedar Plank Orange Marmalade Salmon recipe. Here you go and happy, healthy grilling!

Ingredients
  • 1 Cedar Plank (6x14 inches)
  • 2 Salmon Filets (1-1/2 lbs total)
  • Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup Orange Marmelade
Directions
  1. Soak cedar planks in water for 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Add salt and black pepper to salmon filets.
  3. Slather each salmon filet with orange marmalade.
  4. Place salmon on top of cedar plank. Add salmon and plank to a preheated grill on medium heat. (Keep a water spray bottle handy to put out any flame that may occur.) The secret is to start the salmon out on a low enough heat to let the planks simply smoke, without catching fire. Towards the end of the cooking time, turn heat up to let some of the flame get to the edges of the salmon. You want the orange marmalade to start to crust and crystalize around edges. When the salmon flakes with a fork, it’s done! Enjoy!
